Football world cup and violance in Brazil

At a time when the world economy is passing through its worst crisis in history,  widespread unemployment and budget cuts are making the lives of ordinary people miserable. People have given vent to their fury in Brazil where the Confederation Cup is in progress. Next year, Brazil is hosting the football World Cup. It is also scheduled to host the next Olympics.
Violence broke out when the Brazilian government raised public transport fares. Government assurances have failed to calm the situation. The government has spent nearly $20bn on construction and renovation of football stadiums. But people are demanding improvement in education health and economic sectors.
