Wanton killing of children in Gaza

No reason and law can justify the wanton killing of innocent women and children. Children seem to be the main target of the current Israeli aggression in Gaza. More than 70 children have already lost their lives since Israel launched airstrikes against Gaza’s civilian population last week. More than half of the children killed are under the age of 12.

More than 30 women have also lost their lives in Israeli air strikes. In the most tragic incident, four children who were playing football near a beach were deliberately targeted by the Israeli navy. Several international journalists staying in a nearby hotel filmed the horror attack on children. Israeli airstrikes have also targeted a centre for disabled youth, killing more than a dozen innocent people. 

Several hundred thousand have been forced to leave their homes after a recent Israeli warning. The United Nations and world powers are doing nothing to stop the killing of innocent people. 

At a White House Iftar, US President Barack Obama declared support to Israel, saying that it had the right to act against Hamas rocket attacks. The US Congress, meanwhile, has doubled Israeli aid to enhance its Iron Dome defence system.
