Restructuring of the UN

After the pathetic role of the United Nations in several recent conflicts, restructuring of the UN is the crying need of the day. It seems that instead of solving burning issues and bloody conflicts, the UN Security Council members are preserving their own interests. The Security Council has been divided in two groups and everyone is trying to secure their own interests. Due to financial benefits despite the deaths 1,200 people and displacement of 3 million people, the UN has failed to solve the Syrian crisis and sees everything with blind eyes.

Now due to political differences and personal benefits, the UN Security Council is unable to prepare a joint strategy and solve burning conflicts like in Syria and Palestine. The UN and the so called big power peace efforts for Syria and Palestine have become a big joke these days. Things are not only going bad to worse in Syria, Palestine and Iraq, but the UN has also failed to provide peace and security to millions of people across Africa.

Armed militias and rebel groups are making things go from bad to worse for ordinary people. Due to continuing wars and bloodshed in the Democratic Republic of Congo, South Sudan, Mali and the Central African Republic thousands of people have been forced to leave their homes and are now living in miserable conditions. Due to the lack of interest of big powers, the UN is not able to reduce poverty and hunger in the developing world and despite some minor efforts, the amount of poverty, hunger and killing of innocent people is rising everywhere, which is very unfortunate.
