The French military intervention in Mali

The French military intervention in Mali has driven nearly 70,000 refugees to Mbera camp in the Mauritanian desert, where appalling conditions and inadequate assistance are leading to severe malnutrition and deaths from preventable diseases.

There is only one toilet for every 3,000 refugees, and many people have been living under makeshift shelters made of scraps of cloth and sticks.

There are two main reasons behind the latest crusade in Mali; first the plunder of wealth and resources, and second, ideological hegemony. Yet another "bombing for peace" strategy against the Muslims, supported by the US military.
