Former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf has admitted that he gave the US permission to launch deadly drone strikes inside his country. Musharraf said that permission was given to strike only if there was no time for the Pakistani military to act. Meanwhile, an afghan government fact-finding mission says 17 civilians were killed by the US air strike there last week, 12 of them were children. At the same time, America’s leading human rights organizations have questioned, in a letter to President Barack Obama, the legal basis for targeted killing and called for an end to the secrecy surrounding the use of drones.
