Eternal battle of good and evil

Eternal battle of good and evil
The country is passing through worst energy and economic crises, but instead of solving these genuine issues the government is wasting its energies in fighting the judiciary. Disqualification of former Prime Minister Yousef Raza Gilani, arrest warrant against Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and street protest in the capital point to it’s the mutant of judicial defiance.
The Supreme Court rejected government rental power agreements on receipt of serious allegations of corruption and ordered investigation against the then Minister of Water and Power. Unfortunately due to official interference investigative agencies have become highly politicized. Chairman of National Accountability Bureau has close links with the government. Several top officials who have good reputation have lost their positions. Parliament has become a rubber stamp government these days and not able to play its role against rising corruption. In this gloomy scenario, the Supreme Court is the only hope of the people and instead of joining hands against rising corruption the government is defying on the judiciary which is very unfortunate.
