A pile of elephant ivory tusks


Staff of Malawi's Department of Parks and Wildlife stand in front of a pile of elephant ivory tusks whose burning was postponed during World Wildlife Day commemoration at the Parliament Building in Lilongwe, Malawi. Malawi today postponed the burning of four tonnes of ivory, saying it would wait until more elephant tusks were released from court cases before making a public show of its commitment to fighting the illegal ivory trade.
